2 Orphan Black

Tatiana Maslany as Sarah Manning in Orphan Black Tatiana Maslany looking concerned as Sarah in Orphan Black

Running for 5 seasons throughout the 2010s, is one of the most ambitious sci-fi projects of the modern era. Focusing on Sarah Manning (Tatiana Maslany) as she discovers that she's one of many clones, the series blends typical sci-fi tropes with an intensely dramatic thread. Maslany's performances as each of the clones earned her widespread acclaim, and anchored the series.

While Orphan Black's five-season run was able to explore the ideas and complications behind cloning, the show's main thread always harkened back to family, which grounded it in an interesting way. Throughout the show's run, Orphan Black was able to explore themes of identity and control, keeping the story centralized to the clone club in a way that felt organic and natural.
