The MCU can finally address a significant question eight years after it was introduced. Netflix's Marvel universe began in 2015 with Daredevil. Other shows included Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, and eventually, these four heroes came together in The Defenders. The Punisher also received his own spinoff series.

In 2019, the Netflix Marvel universe ended, but a few of these characters returned in later Marvel projects. Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home, She-Hulk, and Echo, and Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk appeared in Hawkeye and Echo.

Eventually, the characters returned for a continuation of the Netflix series with , which is currently in its second season. Many of the same actors from the Netflix show also reprised their roles, including Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Wilson Bethel as Bullseye, Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa, and .

Season 2 is also bringing back , who hasn't been in the MCU since 2019. However, recent set photos revealed that Born Again will include a full Defenders reunion, and Marvel can finally address an unanswered question from the .

Jessica Jones' return sparked hopes that eventually the other two Defenders would also return. Fortunately, it appears as though Mike Colter's Luke Cage and Finn Jones' Danny Rand, a.k.a. Iron Fist, are reprising their roles in . On X, user (via Getty Images) shared set photos from season 3 featuring Ritter, Colter, and Jones.

Marvel Studios hasn't officially confirmed their return, but a grand reunion does make sense after Jessica Jones' return. It's tough to know how they fit into Born Again's storyline since much could change before the season 2 finale, but it appears as though it's building to a major fight between Fisk's forces and New York City's vigilantes.

It's been eight years since have been in the MCU since both of their shows ended in 2018. For Danny Rand, Born Again could be the perfect opportunity to address the season 2 finale of Iron Fist, which ended with a major question regarding his powers.

Iron Fist season 2 ended with Rand giving up his powers and allowing Jessica Henwick's Colleen Wing to take over as the new Iron Fist. He departed for Asia with Tom Pelphrey's Ward Meachum, searching for Orson Randall.

While in Japan, Ward and Danny are confronted at a bar by a man who fires a gun at Danny. In response, Danny takes out two guns and imbues them with Chi, using his power to get his bullets to collide with the other. This scene confirms Danny got his powers back, but never addresses how.

Additionally, he can now place his Chi in both fists, suggesting he may be even more powerful than before. Since Iron Fist didn't get a season 3, this ending has gone unresolved. However, Daredevil: Born Again season 3 allows the MCU to answer how Danny got his Iron Fist powers back, and how he can wield them in new ways.
