The is getting bigger.

The was announced on January 31, 2026. Since then, several of the projects unveiled by DC have either been released or entered development, as is the case for the upcoming Superman sequel, Man of Tomorrow. However, has shifted in the years since the DCU's plan was shared. New projects like Sgt. Rock have come and gone, while some planned releases, like The Authority and Waller, have found more difficulty than expected to get off the ground. Two planned DC shows fall along those lines, but a new update changes the game for them.

On Threads, addressed the status of two DCU shows: Paradise Lost and Booster Gold. According to the DC Studios co-CEO, Booster Gold remains in development, while the is in "extreme development." When directly asked by a fan whether he was writing the Booster Gold series, and being asked to do so instead of penning scripts for the animated Creature Commandos season 2, claimed he was not writing either of the DC shows. Elsewhere, told fans that The Authority did not work "in terms of the larger DCU" and "story and practical concerns."

Wonder Woman Paradise Lost

Paradise Lost will not feature the new Wonder Woman of Gunn's DCU, with the show expected to flesh out Diana Prince's corner of the franchise through the Amazons of Themyscira. The Wonder Woman prequel series takes place several years before Diana was born, exploring the long history of the Amazons with political schemes similar to those seen in HBO's Game of Thrones, as Gunn compared the upcoming DC series to the hit fantasy show in the DCU Chapter One announcement video. Paradise Lost being in extreme development means the Wonder Woman side of the DCU has gone into overdrive.

After all, despite the fact that a Wonder Woman movie was not one of the projects announced for the DCU's Chapter One, Gunn has confirmed that the franchise's first Wonder Woman solo movie is in development, with its script being written by Supergirl scribe Ana Nogueira. Both the Wonder Woman film and Batman's The Brave and the Bold movie will enter production as soon as their scripts are finished, according to Gunn. As for Booster Gold, the fan-favorite DC hero has been the source of much speculation. According to rumors, Eternals star Kumail Nanjiani could be playing Booster Gold.

While the actor has been seen at events with Gunn, DC Studios' Peter Safran, and others, no official announcements have been made thus far in relation to Nanjiani playing Booster Gold or even being attached to DC. Gunn's new Booster Gold update comes after confirmed on March 18 that Booster Gold was still in development and that he had not left the project, saying, "As far as I know it's still in the pipeline." Booster Gold is one of DC's funniest superheroes and would make for a great addition to Gunn's DCU.

At the time of writing, both the Booster Gold series and Paradise Lost have yet to announce any casting details or their release dates. However, based on Gunn's wording, it seems like the Wonder Woman prequel series is the closest to getting ready for that stage. In any case, the DCU is making progress on two exciting shows.
